Description

New 3 bedroom apartment in the quaint fishing village of Salema, only 45 metres from the beach, with views of the sea, mountains and beach and enjoying a south facing position.

This exceptional property, which is located on the first floor, has been built to the highest of standards with superb finishes.

The floor to ceiling double glazed windows ensure an abundance of natural light, making the spacious accommodation bright and airy, comprising living room with open plan modern fully fitted kitchen with feature island, guest wc, 3 bedrooms (2 en suite), 3 elegant bathrooms and ample storage.

It benefits from pre-installation for air conditioning, electric blinds, solar panels, double glazing, fitted wardrobes and a large dressing room.

It has two large extended terraces from which you can enjoy the amazing views of the beach, sea and mountains.

Salema is a beautiful fisherman's village where you can find the best restaurants and cocktail bars. It is a very desirable area because of its unique charm and central location. It is only 10 minutes drive from the quintessential Algarve village of Vila Do Bispo with its narrow streets, whitewashed houses, and peaceful cafes, which sit almost at the extreme southwest corner of both Portugal and Europe. It is a small village, but caters well for visitors and locals, with two banks, a supermarket, a medical centre and plenty of smaller shops, cafes, and a surprising number of restaurants. Fresh fish is the most popular dish on offer here, thanks to the proximity to the sea. The primary point of interest in the village is the 16th century church on the eastern side of the settlement which stands above a group of other whitewashed buildings.

Broadband is widely available in Portugal and is known as 'banda larga'. It is considered to function better than broadband services in the UK due to the fact that Portugal was one of the last countries to embrace broadband technology and thus has a system with newer design and technology. There are several service providers offering ADSL, fibre and wireless services in Portugal to the residential and the professional markets.

Western Algarve

The west of the Algarve is without doubt one of the most beautiful and authentic regions in all of Portugal.

With a thriving coastline, the western Algarve is the least urbanised region in Portugal, meaning it has a vibrant collection of nationally protected nature reserves and gorgeous beaches. The traditional fishing villages are effervescent with life and Portuguese culture, with the fresh seafood caught daily by local fishermen supplementing some of Portugal's finest seafood dining.

You can easily stroll across the shoreline and between villages by following one of the many footpaths.

How to Get There

For those travelling internationally, flying to Faro airport is the best option. Faro Airport lies just two and a half miles from Faro- the capital of the Algarve. If you're making your way to Lagos, you'll have to plan ahead for the 90km journey from Faro airport to Lagos.

While there's no public transport hub at Faro airport, Eva buses operate between the airport and Faro City, and from Faro City you can catch a bus or a train to Lagos. A bus takes approximately two hours and ten minutes to reach Lagos, and a train takes about one hour and fifty minutes.

You can make use of public transport or you could rent a car or jump in a cab to the Western Algarve which is under an hour.

Climate

The Algarve enjoys a warm climate which means that the weather remains mild and sunny all year round.

The region has an average of over 3,000 hours of sunny skies each year, making the Algarve the perfect destination no matter what month of the year it is.

Be Sure Not to Miss

Lagos – A historic and lively city, Lagos offers splendid beaches, a lovely historic centre and an abundance of sights and activities all around the city and its beaches. Just a few minutes south of the old town centre of Lagos, the Ponta da Piedade's cliffside beach stands as a must-see natural wonder.

Perfect as a base to travel from and explore the western Algarve, from its 4km long Meia Praia beach to the surrounding charming towns to plan day trips to, Lagos stands as an essential city to visit when in the western Algarve.

Odeceixe - At the most northern point of the Algarve's West Coast is the town of Odeceixe.

The quaint little town paints a picture of traditional Portugal with stone cobbled streets, a centuries old church and the still operational windmill at the very top of Odeceixe.

From the top of the windmill, visitors can take in the entire town.

Aljezur Castle - The castle offers fantastic views of the whole of Aljezur and the path up to the castle is filled with information boards relating to the castle's rich history. With a scenic walk up towards the castle, entry is free to see the magnificent ruins of the castle and read about its history.

From the top there are spectacular views of the Aljezur and Amoreira beaches, making the trip to Aljezur Castle both historically fascinating and visually breathtaking.

Golf in the Western Algarve

Portugal is full of great golf courses and the Western Algarve is no exception.
