Golden Triangle Resorts;
VILAMOURA the super-rich’s playground in the Algarve. The whole town was purpose-built as an exclusive destination. It is focused around a large marina filled with million dollar luxury yachts, with an array of restaurants, bars and shops (including many designer shops). The town boasts six championship golf courses and is the location to be based for a golfing or family home. Vilamoura is smart, stylish and trendy with two large sandy beaches. QUINTA DO LAGO & VALE DO LOBO For visitors searching for an up-market and exclusive setting, the adjacent Golf & Beach Resorts of Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo are set in tranquil, coastal pine forests within walking distance to some of the Algarve's finest beaches. Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo are especially popular with golfers, with two of the top award winning courses in the Algarve located on the doorstep. ALMANCIL Traditional Algarve combined with whitewashed houses, Almancil is close to some of the most glamorous spots in the Algarve, and has a coastline where cliffs meet with shimmering white sands, with stunning Atlantic views. The town is the inland point of the Algarve’s “Golden Triangle”, so named for its richness of luxury homes in superb settings and access to first class facilities. Only 20 minutes’ drive from Faro Airport, Almancil has easy access to some of the world’s most celebrated golf courses and stunning beaches.
LOULE A traditional market town that boasts a colourful historic centre, a lively market and a genuine Portuguese atmosphere. The daily markets bring the town alive, attracting visitors across the Algarve. Loule is 10km from the nearest beaches on the edge of the Barrocal Hills, but there are no steep hills within the town centre, just lots of cobbled streets. The carnival in Loule is an event that guarantees 3 days of party. It is held every year in February and is famous across the Algarve. Just like the carnival in Brazil, there are parades, costumes, music and dancing. A must see!
Although the busiest during the summer the beaches in this area still have plenty of room for everyone! From small coves to sandy beaches stretching as far as the eye can see. Praia do Anção - This endless, golden, blue-flag stretch of sand is popular with families, with its calm seas and lifeguard and protected dunes behind. There are sun beds, sunshades and boats to rent, as well as great water-skiing. Praia de Albandeira - Amazingly, this jewel of a beach is completely off the tourist radar. Tiny, with white sands pinched between ochre rocks, it has no water sports, no umbrellas, no sun beds and few visitors. Take a good book and soak up the sun or laze in the shadow of the cliffs behind you.
A golfing gem
